A bow view of the frigate Morecambe Bay (1944) dried out in No. 4 dry dock, Itchen Quay, Southampton, undergoing a refit. The photographer is standing on the dockside looking at the bow showing scaffolding erected on both sides of the bridge. Her pendant number is F624. She was sold to Portugal 9 May 1961 and was refitted by John I Thornycroft before commissioning at Southampton on 3 August 1961 as the Dom Francisco de Almeida. Negatives numbers PM7471/33A to PM7471/36A inclusive and PM7705/37A were taken on the same day.
