A distant port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orcades (1937) anchored at Kotor, Yugoslavia. Her starboard anchor is deployed and an accommodation ladder is rigged at the aft shell door. The Blue Peter is flying from the port yardarm on the foremast. A brigantine rigged steam yacht is between the ship and the harbour pier in the middle distance and the pier is thronged with people. the photographer is looking west-north-west from inside the harbour and in the left foreground are a number of local small sailing craft tied up to a low quay, while a local boatman rows another boat towing a kayak or canoe on the left. A large steam powered harbour tender or tug with the letters MA on the bow is secured alongside a quay at the right of the photograph.
