A slightly distant starboard broadside view of the Orient Line cruise ship Orcades (1937) at anchor off Abbazia, Italy. Her port anchor is deployed and an accommodation ladder is rigged at the aft shell door. The ship's lifeboat number 6 is underway in the foreground taking a group of passengers to the shore for an excursion. Abbazia, in the north end of the Adriatic on the east side, was an Italian port from 1920 to 1947.
