On board the U.S. Navy dock landing ship Lindenwald (1943) LSD 6 at anchor in the Mediterranean during the 6th Fleet amphibious exercise Steel Link 1. The photographer is on the starboard side aft above the enclosed dock looking forward and slightly to port showing the forward part of LCU 1487 (1952) and the sterns of ACU2-1 and ACU2-15 in the dock. The ACUs are each loaded with jeeps and an M48 Patton tank and LCU 1487 (1952) is loaded with bulldozers and 2 mobile cranes, one of which is USMC serial 188405.
