On board the Royal Navy riverine gunboat Skull (1963) (former LCA) during a patrol near Kuching, Sarawak. In the upper foreground is part of the international code flag Kilo, meaning 'I wish to communicate with you'. The gunboat is crewed by men from Naval Party Kilo. Two small motor craft are in the background and the nearest one is named Tiong Huat ---- (four letters not decipherable) and has the number K521 painted on the superstructure. This was during the Indonesian confrontation which ran from 20 January 1963 to 11 August 1966. The top of the negative is stained.
