On board the Royal Navy riverine gunboat Skull (1963) (former LCA) during a patrol near Kuching, Sarawak. The gunboat is crewed by men from Naval Party Kilo and one of the crew carrying a Sterling L2A3 sub machine gun is on board a local boat which is close alongside. Also on board is a Malay interpreter talking to the passengers. He is wearing a jungle grren uniform and has a Lee-Enfield Mark V rifle over his shoulder. The boat is carrying rolls of wire mesh and passengers. This was during the Indonesian confrontation which ran from 20 January 1963 to 11 August 1966.
