A Malay interpreter with a Lee-Enfield Mark V rifle from the Royal Navy riverine gunboat Skull (1963) (former LCA) checking passenger documents on board a local passenger/cargo boat during a patrol near Kuching, Sarawak. The passengers include women and small children. A label attached to an item in the background reads 'Peace Corps'. The gunboat is crewed by men from Naval Party Kilo. This was during the Indonesian confrontation which ran from 20 January 1963 to 11 August 1966.
