A port bow view of the Royal Navy riverine gunboat Skull (1963) alongside the oiling jetty at Kuching, Sarawak. The photographer is on the jetty looking aft, to starboard and down showing the converted landing craft with the accommodation cabin amidships and a canopy over the wheel aft. A lifering with SKULL and L.C.A. 119 on it is fixed to a makeshift foremast and RN1 is painted on the cabin roof. The boat is manned by members of Naval Party Kilo. This was during the Indonesian confrontation which ran from 20 January 1963 to 11 August 1966.
