On board the United States Navy guided missile destroyer Claude V Ricketts (1960) while under way in mid Atlantic. The photographer is in the seamens' galley servery showing a line of men collecting their meals. On the opposite side of the counter is one of the galley assistants wearing a cap with the ship's name and hull number on it. The ship's crew consisted of 10 officers and 164 crew from the US Navy with the rest of the complement being from West Germany, Italy, Greece, United Kingdom, Netherlands and Turkey as a mixed manning experiment.
