On board the Netherlands Navy aircraft carrier Karel Doorman (1943) under way in the North Sea off the southern Norwegian coast during the NATO exercise Pilot Light. The photographer is in the starboard aft walkway alongside the flight deck looking forward and to port showing the Grumman S2-A Tracker aircraft coded 159/D immediately after touch down. Her hook has not yet disengaged from the arrester wire. A hooded flight deck light and the island are on the right.
