On the flight deck on board the Netherlands Navy aircraft carrier Karel Doorman (1943) under way in the North Sea off the southern Norwegian coast during the NATO exercise Pilot Light. The photographer is in the starboard side of the flight deck abaft the island looking aft and to port showing two Grumman S2A Tracker aircraft tied down with their wings folded. Their engine cowlings and cockpit canopies have canvas covers and the aircraft are coded 159/D and 165/D.
