On board the Royal Navy Type 81 general purpose frigate Tartar (1960) while at sea off Barbados during exercises involving the 7th and 8th Frigate Squadrons. The Tartar is a unit of the 8th Frigate Squadron (West Indies). The photographer is on the port side of the forecastle looking aft showing the 4.5 inch gun and the superstructure. The top of the mast is out of the picture.
