The United States Navy submarine base at Key West, Florida
On board the Royal Navy Type 15 frigate Ursa (1943) of the 8th Frigate Squadron (West Indies) moving away from a pier at the United States Key West naval base, Florida, after taking on bunkers while on a courtesy visit during exercises involving the 7th Frigate Squadron (South Atlantic) and the 8th Frigate Squadron (West Indies). The photographer is on the starboard side looking to starboard showing the five finger jetties of the Key West submarine base. Seven United States Navy submarines and the U.S. destroyer Hyman (1944), seen from off her starboard bow, are berthed alongside these jetties. The hull number of the Hyman is 732. Nothing of the Ursa (1943) is in the picture.
