The United States Navy destroyer Robert A Owens (1946) under way at Key West, Florida
A starboard near broadside view, taken from only just abaft the beam, of the United States Navy destroyer Robert A Owens (1946) under way at Key West, Florida, bound out. Her hull number is 827 and the extreme tip of her stern is out of the picture. She has an awning rigged aft and a number of her crew are gathered under it. The photographer is on board the Royal Navy Type 15 frigate Ursa (1943) of the 8th Frigate Squadron (West Indies), which is moving away from a pier at the United States Key West naval base, Florida, after having taken on bunkers while on a courtesy visit during exercises involving the 7th Frigate Squadron (South Atlantic) and the 8th Frigate Squadron (West Indies). Nothing of the Ursa (1943) is in the picture.
