On board the Royal Navy Type 15 frigate Ursa (1943) of the 8th Frigate Squadron (West Indies), which is moving away from a pier at the United States Key West naval base, Florida, after having taken on bunkers while on a courtesy visit during exercises involving the 7th Frigate Squadron (South Atlantic) and the 8th Frigate Squadron (West Indies). The photographer is on the port side of 1 deck abreast the twin 4 inch gun mount looking aft and slightly to starboard showing the port Limbo mortar and the ensign. Heading out of port in the distance and viewed from fine off the starboard quarter is the United States Navy destroyer Robert A Owens (1946).
