On board the Royal Navy type 81 general purpose frigate Tartar (1960) of the 8th Frigate Squadron (West Indies) while in an unknown port in the West Indies during an exercise involving both the 7th and 8th Frigate Squadrons. The photographer is on the port side of 01 deck looking aft at the single 40 mm bofors gun which is trained forward. An awning is rigged above the deck. A local motor tug is close off the port side aft.
