On board the Royal Navy commando carrier Bulwark (1948) under way in the Norwegian Sea off the northern coast of Norway during the NATO exercise Polar Express. Some men of 45 Royal Marine Commando are sunbathing or standing on the flight deck. In the distance is a Soviet Navy Riga class frigate, seen from off her starboard beam. She is one of two of these vessels that were used to shadow the exercise.
