A port side view of the forepart, taken from abaft the beam, of the United States Navy destroyer McCaffery (1945) under way in the North Sea off the Firth of Forth. The top of the foremast and everything aft of the forefunnel are out of the picture. Her hull number is 860 and she is dipping her bow into the swell. The McCaffery is the United States contribution to STANAVFORLANT (the NATO Standing Naval Force Atlantic) and she is seen from on board the Royal Navy frigate Leander (1961).
