Portsmouth Dockyard, taken from on board a ship in Portsmouth Harbour, looking south to the harbour entrance
A general view looking south towards the harbour entrance from on board a vessel in Portsmouth Harbour. On the left is the stern of the Royal Navy aircraft carrier Eagle (1946) alongside Middle Slip Jetty and she is dressed overall. The forepart of the harbour tug Alice (1961) is also on the left. The Victory (1765) is dressed overall in No. 2 Dry Dock. The Royal Yacht Britannia (1953) is moving off South Railway Jetty and the Belgian Navy support ship Zinnia (1967) is in the centre of the harbour preparing to follow the Britannia (1953) out of the harbour to Spithead to review the ships assembled for the 20th Anniversary Review of the NATO Navies.
