The United States Navy oiler Neosho (1953) and the Canadian Navy aircraft carrier Bonaventure (1945) in the English Channel during the NATO exercise Peacekeeper.
A close starboard side view of the United States Navy fleet oiler Neosho (1953) and the Canadian Navy aircraft carrier Bonaventure (1945) under way in the English Channel off the Devon coast during NATO exercise Peacekeeper. The photographer is on board the Royal Fleet Auxiliary fleet replenishment ship Olna (1965) looking aft and to port showing the after part of the Neosho (1953) and beyond her is the after part of the Bonaventure (1945). The Olna (1965) and the Bonaventure (1945) are taking on bunkers from the Neosho (1953). Everything forward of No. 3 goalpost on the Neosho is out of the picture and her hull is badly stained with oil fuel, the result of a burst hose.
