The photographer is on the port side of the island superstructure looking to port and slightly forward showing the nose of the Hawker-Siddeley Buccaneer S.2 aircraft XV345, coded 103/E, of 800 Naval Air Squadron taking off from the aft catapult on the angled deck. Her nose wheel has left the deck and their is image movement.
