On board the Royal Navy frigate Rapid (1942) at Kristiansund, Norway, during the Maritime Air Defence Exercise Highwood which took place in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea. The frigate is under way and the photographer is on 1 deck aft of the former Squid mortar well looking forward and to port showing two liferafts in the foreground. A small shipbuilding or repair yard with a slip is on the left.
