On board the Royal Navy frigate Rapid (1942) during the Maritime Air Defence Exercise Highwood which took place in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea. The photographer is on the port side of 01 deck just abaft the foremast looking aft in rough weather. The funnel is on the left with a siren projecting from the rear of it. The mainmast is abaft the funnel and on the right is the motor boat in its davits.
