The Royal Navy frigate Whitby (1954) alongside the east wall in the basin of HMS Tamar on Hong Kong Island

A starboard bow view, taken from fine off the bow, of the Royal Navy frigate Whitby (1954) berthed alongside the east wall in the basin of the Royal Navy Dockyard HMS Tamar on the north coast of Hong Kong Island. Her pendant number is F36, she has floodlights rigged along her hull and she is flying the United States flag at the foremast in honour of American Thanksgiving Day. Her bow is out of the picture. The stars and stripes are also being flown from the flagpole on the west side of the basin entrance. The photographer is on board a Ton class patrol vessel alongside the south wall.
