On board the Royal Navy assault ship Fearless (1963) in the Norwegian Sea during the NATO exercise Strong Express. The photographer is looking forward, to starboard and down from the starboard side of 1 deck abreast the funnel at the starboard aft LCVP(2) coded L3 which is moving away after being lowered from her davits. She is loaded with a troop of Royal Marines. A vertical format negative in which the image of the LCVP is out of focus.
