On board the sail training brig Royalist (1971) under sail during a training cruise off the Isle of Wight in the last quarter of 1973. The photographer is on the port side of the deck abaft the mainmast looking up at the mainmast tops. Two crew members are climbing up the port main shroud. The mainyard is hauled round to starboard and the spanker is set. A vertical format negative.
