A distant port quarter view, taken from wide off the stern, of an unidentified tanker under way in the Eastern Mediterranean. The design of the tanker indicates that she was built in the period from the late 1940s to the mid 1950s. The photographer is on board the Royal Navy commando carrier Bulwark (1948) which is taking part in NATO Exercise Deep Furrow, an amphibious landing in north-west Turkey involving forces from the United States of America, United Kingdom, Italy, Greece and Turkey. Negatives numbers PM7996/1, PM7996/2 and PM7996/3 are of this vessel.
