On board the Royal Navy frigate Leander (1961) during a test firing of an Ikara anti-submarine missile, probably in the North Sea prior to 24 July 1973. The photographer is looking forward from the enclosed bridge showing the smoke cloud immediately after the Ikara missile was fired on a dead ahead bearing. Negatives numbers PM8002/0, PM8002/1, PM8002/2 and PM8002/3 were all taken within a few minutes of each other.
