On board the Royal Navy frigate Leander (1961) during a test firing of an Ikara anti-submarine missile, probably in the North Sea prior to 24 July 1973. The photographer is looking forward from the enclosed bridge showing a group of six civilians and two Royal Navy officers gathered around the Ikara launcher enclosure after the missile has been fired. One of the navy officers is a lieutenant-commander. Negatives numbers PM8002/0, PM8002/1, PM8002/2 and PM8002/3 were all taken within a few minutes of each other.
