On board the Royal Navy commando carrier Hermes (1953) while she is at anchor off Cape Teulada, Southern Sardinia during the NATO exercise Dawn Patrol 74 which involved over sixty ships from the U.S.A., U.K., Italy, Turkey and Greece. The photographer is on the starboard side of the quarter deck looking towards the land. In the distance, dimly seen against the land, is the Royal Navy assault ship Fearless (1963) at anchor.
