On board the Royal Navy coastal minehunter Bossington (1955) in the Suez Canal near Port Said. The photographer is standing on the port side of the forecastle looking aft and to starboard showing the 40 mm Bofors gun. The ship's 'Bosscat' logo is painted on the front of the Bofors gun. An awning is rigged over the forecastle. The Bossington, together with the Maxton (1956) and Wilton (1972) and the support ship Abdiel (1967) were taking part in Operation Rheostat One, the clearance of ordnance from the Suez Canal between April and November 1974.
