On board the Royal Navy coastal minehunter Bossington (1955) in the Suez Canal near Port Said. The photographer is standing on the port side of the forecastle deck abaft the bridge looking aft and to starboard showing the funnel with the circular blue and white logo of the Suez Canal Authority on it. The Bossington, together with the Maxton (1956) and Wilton (1972) and the support ship Abdiel (1967) were taking part in Operation Rheostat One, the clearance of ordnance from the Suez Canal between April and November 1974. A vertical format negative.
