On board the Royal Navy coastal minehunter Bossington (1955) near Port Said in the Suez Canal, Egypt

On board the Royal Navy coastal minehunter Bossington (1955) in the Suez Canal near Port Said. The Bossington, together with the Maxton (1956) and Wilton (1972) and the support ship Abdiel (1967) were taking part in Operation Rheostat One, the clearance of ordnance from the Suez Canal between April and November 1974. The photographer is on the aft end of the port side of the forecastle deck looking aft and to port showing the Gemini dinghy fitted with an outboard motor manoeuvring close alongside the ship. There are two seamen and a diver in the dinghy and the diver is getting into his wetsuit ready for a search of the canal bed.
