On board The Royal Naval Reserve coastal minesweeper Mersey (1957) during the NATO exercise Northern Merger in the North Sea off the Danish coast
On board the Royal Naval Reserve coastal minesweeper Mersey (1957) during the NATO exercise Northern Merger in the North Sea off the Danish coast. The photographer is on the centreline of the bridge deck looking aft and slightly to port showing the funnel and a small part of the sweep deck. In the distance off the port quarter and seen from wide off her port bow is an unidentified Ton class sweeper, presumably also a unit of the 10th (RNR) Mine Counter Measures Squadron. The wake of a mine sweep can be seen between the two ships.
