On board the Royal Naval Reserve coastal minesweeper Mersey (1957) during the NATO exercise Northern Merger in the North Sea off the Danish coast. The photographer is on the port side of the aft end of the forecastle deck looking aft showing the oerlikon gun deck on the left with the Type B magnetic cable reel and the Type B winch further aft. A line of crew members are hauling in the acoustic sweep power cable and the wake of the sweep's noise producer can be seen astern.
