On board the Royal Navy commando carrier Hermes (1953) in the Norwegian Sea off the northern Norwegian coast during the NATO exercise Atlas Express which lasted from 18 February to 20 March 1976. The photographer is on the flight deck watching the Westland Sea King HAS.1 helicopter XV712 coded 273 of 814 Naval Air Squadron approaching the ship with an underslung Snowcat tractor. The image is very slightly unsharp.
