NATO amphibious exercise Northern Wedding in the Shetland Islands
A general view of an unidentified loch in the Shetland Islands being used for amphibious landings by a task force of nine United States warships during the NATO exercise Northern Wedding. The photographer is on shore showing a port bow view of the loaded U.S. LCU (Landing Craft Utility) ACU2-3 about to beach and with her ramp being lowered. The ACU2-9 is already beached in the background. Both of these craft are members of the Assault Craft Unit 2.
