NATO amphibious exercise Northern Wedding in the Shetland Islands
A general view of an unidentified loch in the Shetland Islands being used for amphibious landings by a task force of nine United States warships during the NATO exercise Northern Wedding. The photographer is on shore at the head of the loch looking into the beached LCU (Landing Craft Utility) ACU2-3 after she has discharged her United States Marines and their vehicles but before the discharge of her general stores. ACU2-9 is beached to starboard of her and both vessels are members of the Assault Craft Unit 2.
