The photographer is on shore at the head of the loch looking into the beached LCU (Landing Craft Utility) ACU2-3 after she has discharged her United States Marines and their vehicles but before the discharge of her general stores. ACU2-9 is beached to starboard of her and both vessels are members of the Assault Craft Unit 2.
