NATO amphibious exercise Northern Wedding in the Shetland Islands

A general view of an unidentified loch in the Shetland Islands being used for amphibious landings by a task force of nine United States warships during the NATO exercise Northern Wedding. The photographer is on shore at the head of the loch looking along the foreshore showing the bows of the beached LCUs (Landing Craft Utility) LCU 1658 (1971), LCU 1662 (1971), ACU2-9 and ACU2-3. The latter two vessels are members of the Assault Craft Unit 2.
