NATO amphibious exercise Northern Wedding in the Shetland Islands
A general view of an unidentified loch in the Shetland Islands being used for amphibious landings by a task force of nine United States warships during the NATO exercise Northern Wedding. The photographer is inland above the side of the loch looking towards the head of the loch showing beached LCUs (Landing Craft Utility) with LCU 1658 (1971) and an LCM 6 manoeuvering off the beachhead. A large number of troops and vehicles are ashore.
