Carrying case for a Windsor zither banjo
A plywood and rexine-covered (imitation leather) zither banjo carrying case lined in red velvet. This is the case for the zither banjo (AAB0225) owned and played by Dr Leonard Hussey on the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1914-1917), where Hussey had been crew on the Endurance.
In the 1931 Windsor catalogue it was described as:
'Suitable Cases for above: / No. 505, in Plywood Brown Rexine Covered, lined Velvet.... £2 2 0"
