On board the Royal Navy coastal minesweeper Upton (1956) while under way in Gibraltar Bay in early 1980 during exercise Test Gate. The photographer is looking forward from the bridge showing an officer standing by the jackstaff with the Union flag hoisted. A Ton class vessel is directly ahead and they are heading for the entrance to the harbour between the Detached Mole and the South Mole.
