The photographer is looking to port from the forecastle deck amidships showing the Royal Fleet Auxiliary tanker Grey Rover (1969) and stores issuing ship Tarbatness (1967) berthed alongside the South Mole. The pendant number of the Grey Rover (1969) is A269. A Ton class sweeper is backing away from the South Mole.
