A close detail of the conning tower of the former Greek submarine Argonaftis (1944) at Pasajes. The photographer is on the quayside looking aft and to starboard at the conning tower. The pendant number Y15 is painted on the tower. A wooden sentry box type structure is on deck ahead of the conning tower. The Argonaftis (1944) was being towed from Malta to the Tyne in December 1958 when she broke adrift and stranded on the North Spanish coast. The hulk was refloated and towed into Pasajes 6 January 1959. She was broken up there during April 1961.
