The hulk of the former Greek submarine Argonaftis (1944) berthed at Pasajes, Spain
A close detail of the after part of the former Greek submarine Argonaftis (1944) at Pasajes. The photographer is on the deck looking aft and to starboard from abreast the conning tower showing the after deck and stern. The Spanish Navy patrol boat Lanzon (1944), also known as V 18, is alongside the boat and the stern of the cargo ship Cru Mediterraneo (1910) is in the background. The Argonaftis (1944) was being towed from Malta to the Tyne in December 1958 when she broke adrift and stranded on the North Spanish coast. The hulk was refloated and towed into Pasajes 6 January 1959. She was broken up there during April 1961.
