The hulk of the former Greek submarine Argonaftis (1944) berthed at Pasajes, Spain
A close detail of the after part of the former Greek submarine Argonaftis (1944) at Pasajes. The photographer is looking forward, to starboard and down from the quayside abaft the stern showing the deck and conning tower of the boat. Her stern and everything forward of the conning tower are out of the picture. An empty steel lighter and the Spanish Navy patrol boat Lanzon (1944), also known as V 18, are alongside the boat. The Argonaftis (1944) was being towed from Malta to the Tyne in December 1958 when she broke adrift and stranded on the North Spanish coast. The hulk was refloated and towed into Pasajes 6 January 1959. She was broken up there during April 1961.
