A close starboard side detail, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the after part of the Royal Navy aircraft carrier Hermes (1953) refuelling while under way in the English Channel off Berry Head. Her pendant number is R12 and everything forward of her island is out of the picture. The photographer is on board the Royal Fleet Auxiliary tanker Olna (1965) looking aft and to port from the port side amidships.
