The photographer is on the starboard side of the sweep deck near the stern looking forward showing some of the crew lining the rail and others in the water during 'hands to bathe'. She is engaged in Operation Rheostat One, the clearing of the Suez Canal of ordnance left over from the Egypt-Israel War.
