The Storneskaia and anchorage at Aalesund, Norway

A view of the town of Aalesund and Aspevaagen in Norway, taken from the lower slopes of Aksla Hill looking south-west towards the island of Heissa. In the centre on the south side of the town is the passenger terminal Storneskaia with the Hamburg-South America line passenger liner Monte Rosa (1930) alongside. In the left foreground, berthed stern-on to the shore is the salvage vessel Ula (1912) with a small steam ship to starboard of her. Anchored out in the Aspevaagen is the passenger cruise liner Carinthia (1925). A vertical format negative.
