The anchorage at Ajaccio, Corsica
The anchorage at Ajaccio, Corsica, seen from the waterfront. A palm tree is in the foreground and canvas covered commodities are on the quayside. An Orient Line passenger liner, seen from fine off her starboard bow, is at anchor in the bay. There were five of these ships built between 1924 and 1929 and they were all used for occasional cruising. One of the ship's motor launches is heading for the shore. The far side of the bay is backed by wooded hill slopes and mountains.
